Instructions:
Step 1: Gear Assembly
1. Connect 2 gears to axle #3 to create input and output shafts.
2. Place the No. 8 bushing onto the No. 1 axle and connect the input shaft to the No. 1 axle.
Step 2: Frame Assembly
1. Assemble 2 node beams 1 and 2 node beams 4 into a rectangle.
2. Connect node beams #1 to connectors #4.
Step 3: Attaching the Shafts
1. Insert the input shaft into the hole of one of the No. 1 node beams.
2. Secure the input shaft with a hole pin.
3. Insert the output shaft into the hole of the other No. 1 node beam.
4. Secure the output shaft with a hole pin.
Step 4: Assembling the Case
1. Place plate #1 on top of the rectangular frame.
2. Place plate #2 inside the rectangular frame.
3. Secure the body using No. 2 bricks.
Step 5: Completion
1. Assemble 2 arms from No. 4 beams and connect them to the output shaft.
2. The LEGO automatic box is ready!
Working principle:
When you turn the input shaft, the gears mesh with each other, causing the output shaft to rotate. Levers attached to the output shaft convert rotational motion into up and down motion.
