Materials:
* New automatic transmission and installation kit
* Keys and tools
* New wiring, electronic control unit (ECU) and sensors for automatic transmission (if necessary)
* Automatic transmission radiator
* Transmission fluid
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Raise the car and secure it on lifts.
* Drain the oil from the manual transmission.
* Remove the exhaust system, driveshaft and starter.
2. Removing the manual transmission:
* Disconnect all electrical connectors and vacuum lines from the transmission.
* Disconnect the clutch and release bearing.
* Unscrew the engine and gearbox mounting bolts.
* Carefully lower the manual transmission.
3. Preparing the automatic transmission:
* Install the mounting kit on the automatic transmission (if applicable).
* Connect any additional wiring harness, ECU and sensors.
* Install the automatic transmission radiator and fill it with transmission fluid.
4. Automatic transmission installation:
* Lift the automatic transmission and align it with the engine.
* Secure the engine and gearbox mounting bolts.
* Connect all electrical connectors and vacuum lines.
5. Wiring and electronics:
*If the automatic transmission requires new wiring or ECU, make the necessary modifications.
* Check that all electrical connections are secure.
6. Drive shaft and cardan shaft:
* Install a drive shaft compatible with automatic transmission.
* Connect the propeller shaft to the drive shaft and axle.
7. Exhaust system and starter:
* Reinstall the exhaust system.
* Reinstall the starter.
8. Refilling with transmission fluid:
* Fill the automatic transmission with transmission fluid to the appropriate level.
* Check the fluid level after starting the engine and warming up the automatic transmission.
9. Completion:
* Lower the vehicle from the lifts.
*Take a test drive to ensure that the automatic transmission operates correctly.
* Recheck the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.
