The process of installing an automatic transmission instead of a manual one

Tools and materials:

* Automatic transmission kit
* Torque converter kit with friction plate
* New starter suitable for automatic transmission
*ATF cooling radiator
* ATF lines
*New wiring and harness compatible with automatic transmission
* Set of pedals, including brake, accelerator and parking brake pedals
* Wrenches, socket wrenches and ratchets
* Lift or jacks

Steps:

1. Preparing the car:

* Keep your vehicle safe by setting it to a parking brake or lift.
* Disconnect the battery and let it set for a few minutes.
* Drain all transmission fluid from the manual transmission.

2. Removing the manual transmission:

* Disconnect all electrical connectors, shafts and cables from the manual transmission.
* Disconnect and remove the driveshaft.
* Support the manual transmission using a jack or lift.
* Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the manual transmission.

3. Installation of automatic transmission:

* Install the automatic transmission in place of the manual transmission, making sure it is properly aligned.
* Tighten the automatic transmission mounting bolts.
* Connect the driveshaft to the new transmission.

4. Installation of the torque converter:

* Install the friction plate on the engine flywheel.
* Install the torque converter onto the friction plate.
* Tighten the torque converter mounting bolts.

5. Starter installation:

*Remove the old starter and install a new one suitable for automatic transmission.
* Connect the starter to the appropriate electrical connectors.

6. Installation of ATF cooling radiator:

* Install the ATF cooler in the designated location.
* Connect the ATF lines to the radiator and automatic transmission.

7. Installation of ATF lines:

* Install ATF lines to connect the automatic transmission to the radiator and oil sump.
*Tighten all ATF line fittings securely.

8. Installation of wiring and wiring harness:

* Install a new wiring harness and connectors compatible with the automatic transmission.
* Connect all necessary sensors, solenoids and other electrical components.

9. Installation of pedals:

*Remove the old pedals and install a new set of pedals, including the brake, accelerator and parking brake pedals.
*Adjust the pedals according to the driver’s preference.

10. Filling with ATF and checking:

* Fill the automatic transmission with the recommended amount of ATF.
* Start the engine and let it idle to bleed the ATF system.
* Check ATF fluid level and add if necessary.

11. Final check:

* Carry out a road test to ensure the automatic transmission is operating properly.
* Check for ATF leaks or abnormal noises.
*Adjust gear shifting and other settings as necessary.

Note:

*This procedure requires advanced mechanical skills, special tools and equipment.
* It is recommended to have this job done by an experienced mechanic who specializes in installing transmissions.
