Required tools and materials:

* New gear oil (Dexron VI)
* Wrench or socket with ratchet
* Funnel with long tip
*Transmission pan gasket (if applicable)

Instructions:

1. Raise the vehicle: Using a jack or lift, raise the vehicle to provide access to the transmission pan. Make sure the vehicle is stable on jack stands.

2. Cool the engine and transmission: Allow the engine and transmission to cool for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the oil to drain into the pan.

3. Locate the oil pan drain plug: Underneath the transmission pan, locate the oil pan drain plug. This is usually a hex head bolt.

4. Collect oil: Place an oil pan under the drain plug.

5. Loosen and remove the drain plug: Using a wrench or socket, carefully loosen and remove the drain plug. Oil will begin to flow out. Let the oil drain into the pan. Make sure all the oil is drained.

6. Install the pan gasket (if applicable): If your Opel Vectra model has a pan gasket, clean the pan surface and install a new gasket.

7. Tighten the drain plug: Once all the oil has drained, clean the drain plug and reinstall it. Tighten the plug using a wrench or socket to the torque specified in the owner’s manual.

8. Locate the fill plug: Locate the fill plug on the side or top of the transmission. This is usually a hex head bolt.

9. Fill with new oil: Insert a funnel with a long tip into the filler plug and begin pouring new transmission oil. Fill with oil until it begins to flow out of the inspection hole.

10. Tighten the filler plug: As soon as oil begins to flow out of the inspection hole, tighten the filler plug. Make sure it is tightened to the torque specified in the owner’s manual.

11. Check the oil level: Run the engine at idle speed. While the engine is running, check the oil level using the transmission dipstick (if equipped). The oil level should be between the «MIN» and «MAX» marks on the dipstick.

12. Add oil as necessary: If the oil level is low, add a small amount of oil through the filler plug. Recheck the oil level using the dipstick.

13. Reset the error code (if applicable): In some Opel Vectra models, an error code may appear after changing the transmission oil. In this case, you need to reset the error code using a diagnostic scanner.

Notes:

* Use only transmission oil recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.
*Check the transmission oil level a few days after the change to ensure it is maintained.
* Dispose of used oil and oil filter according to local regulations.
