Required tools and materials:
* Tools for marking and removing gearbox covers (wrenches, screwdrivers, pullers)
* Lift or jacks for lifting the car
* Bearing pullers
* Torque wrench set
* New set of gaskets and seals
* Sealing sealant
* ATF oil and oil filter
* Special tool for removing and installing oil filter
* Cleaning products and wipes
Disassembly procedure:
1. Preparation for disassembly:
* Raise the car on a lift or jacks.
* Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
* Drain the ATF oil from the gearbox.
* Disconnect all electrical connectors and hoses from the transmission.
2. Removing the gearbox:
* Disconnect the drive shafts from the transmission.
* Unscrew the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter.
* Lower the subframe supporting the transmission.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine and remove it.
3. Disassembling the gearbox:
A. Disassemble the housings:
* Remove the bolts and remove the oil pan.
* Clean all surfaces from any remaining oil and dirt.
* Separate all cases starting from the back cover.
b. Remove bearings:
* Remove all bearings and rings using a bearing puller.
V. Remove couplings and gears:
* Remove all couplings, gears and synchronizers from the shafts.
d. Remove the pump:
* Remove the oil pump by unscrewing its mounting bolts.
d. Remove the clutch drum:
* Remove the nut holding the clutch drum to the input shaft.
* Remove the clutch drum.
e. Remove the differential:
* Remove the bolts holding the differential to the transmission housing.
* Remove the differential.
4. Cleaning and inspection:
* Thoroughly clean all parts of any remaining oil and dirt.
* Inspect all parts for wear, damage or defects.
* Replace any damaged or worn parts.
5. Gearbox assembly:
* Reassemble the gearbox in the reverse order of disassembly.
* Install new gaskets and seals.
*Tighten all bolts to specifications.
* Install a new oil filter.
* Fill the transmission with new ATF oil.
6. Gearbox installation:
* Install the gearbox onto the engine and tighten all mounting bolts.
* Raise the subframe and secure it in place.
* Connect the drive shafts to the gearbox.
* Connect all electrical connectors and hoses.
* Install the starter and secure it with bolts.
7. Completion:
* Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
* Check the ATF oil level and add if necessary.
* Check the transmission for leaks.
* Take a test drive and check the operation of the gearbox.
