Tools and materials:

* Socket wrenches
* Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
*Pliers
*WD-40 or other suitable lubricant
* Covering material for the working surface

Procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Stop the engine and disconnect the battery.
* Support the car on jacks or place it on a lift.
* Protect the work surface with covering material.

2. Removing the control unit:

* Locate the automatic transmission control unit in the engine compartment. It is usually located next to the gearbox.
*Using a socket wrench, loosen and remove the bolts holding the unit to the bracket.
* Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors, applying force to the connector body, not to the wires.

3. Disassembling the unit:

* Disconnect the antenna, if equipped.
*Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the top cover of the unit.
* Clean the contact surface of the cover from dirt and debris.
* The electronic board, solenoids and hydraulic valve are located inside the housing.

4. Cleaning and lubrication:

* Using a soft cloth and WD-40, clean the electronic board, solenoids and hydraulic valve.
* Apply a small amount of lubricant to the contacts and solenoids.
*Make sure all components are dry before proceeding.

5. Block assembly:

* Install the electronic board, solenoids and hydraulic valve back into the housing.
* Close the top cover and tighten the screws.

6. Installation of the unit:

* Insert the control unit into the bracket and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Connect the electrical connectors, making sure they are fully inserted.
* Install an antenna if available.

7. Functionality check:

* Connect the battery and start the engine.
* Shift gears and check that the automatic transmission control unit is working properly.
*If problems occur, diagnosis may need to be made using a trouble code scanner.

Warnings:

*Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals to clean electronic components.
* Be careful with fragile plastic components.
* When servicing electrical system components, it is important to wear protective gloves and eyewear.
*If you are unsure of your abilities, have this job done by a qualified mechanic.
