Required tools:
* Set of keys
* Hex key
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Torque wrench
* Liquid collection tray
* New gaskets and seals
Precautions:
* Before starting work, please read the vehicle owner’s manual and repair manual for your specific vehicle model.
* Remove the negative terminal of the battery to avoid accidental contact.
* Allow the engine to cool before starting work.
*Work in a well-ventilated area.
Procedure:
1. Drain the transmission fluid:
* Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan.
* Place a drip tray underneath the drain pan.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the liquid.
2. Remove the transmission pan:
*Using a hex wrench, remove the bolts holding the pan to the transmission.
* Carefully pry the pan with a flat blade screwdriver and remove it from the transmission housing.
* Clean the seating surface of the pan and transmission housing.
3. Remove the oil filter:
*Locate the oil filter inside the transmission pan.
*Using the oil filter, remove the filter from the housing.
* Lubricate the new O-ring on the filter and install the filter in place.
4. Remove solenoids:
*Locate the solenoids on the transmission housing.
* Disconnect the electrical connectors from the solenoids.
*Using a hex wrench, remove the bolts holding the solenoids.
* Remove the solenoids and replace them with new ones.
5. Remove the oil pump housing:
*Locate the oil pump housing on the transmission housing.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the housing.
* Remove the housing and inspect the pump, gears and couplings. Replace worn parts if necessary.
6. Remove the planetary gear:
* Remove the bolts securing the planetary gears to the gearbox housing.
* Remove the planetary gears and shaft.
* Clean all parts.
7. Remove the sun gears:
* Position the gearbox so that the sun gears are at the top of the housing.
* Unscrew the nut securing the sun gears to the output shaft.
* Remove the sun gears.
8. Remove the differential:
* Remove the bolts securing the differential to the transmission housing.
* Remove the differential and replace worn parts such as gears, bearings and seals.
9. Gearbox assembly:
* Reassemble the gearbox in the reverse order of removal, using new gaskets and seals.
*Tighten all bolts to manufacturer specifications.
* Install the oil pan.
10. Fill with transmission fluid:
* Fill in transmission fluid through the filler hole on the transmission housing.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick.
*Add fluid to the correct level.
11. Install the battery:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
