Signs of an automatic transmission (AT):

* Gear selector: The lever has several positions, designated by letters (P, R, N, D, possibly L or S).
* Torque converter: Provides smooth shifts and absorbs engine vibrations. Its presence is difficult to determine without a special examination.
* No clutch pedal: The vehicle is controlled only by the gas and brake pedals.

Signs of a robotic gearbox (manual transmission):

* Gear selector: Similar to an automatic transmission, but may have additional modes such as “+/-” or “M”.
* Noticeable gear shifts: There is a jolt or vibration felt during shifts.
*Clutch Pedal: Can be a small pedal used only for starting.
* “Auto” and “Manual” modes are possible: Allows the driver to change gears manually or trust the automatic transmission.
*Clutch Components: When inspecting the transmission or engine, mechanical components of the clutch may be visible.

Additional tips:

*Check your owner’s manual: The transmission type information is usually listed in the owner’s manual.
*Consult a Mechanic: A qualified mechanic can accurately determine your transmission type.
* Look under the car: The mechatronic unit or other manual transmission components may be visible under the bottom of the car.
