Connecting the trailer electrical system to the vehicle
Required materials:
* Trailer electrical connection kit
* Wrench
* Screwdriver
* Insulation tape
* Alkali
Steps:
1. Determine the type of connector on the trailer:
*The most common connector types are 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin and 7-pin. Determine the type of connector on your trailer.
2. Connect the connection kit to the trailer connector:
*Locate the correct connector type on the trailer and vehicle.
*Connect the connection kit to the trailer connector according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
* Tighten the nuts and fasteners.
3. Find the connection wires on the car:
*Red: brake lights
*Yellow: turn signals (right)
* Green: turn signals (left)
* Black: ground
* Blue: side lights
* White (or yellow with white stripe): reverse
4. Connect the wires to the connection kit:
*Connect each wire from the vehicle to the corresponding socket on the connection kit according to the color markings.
* Secure the wires using the supplied clamps or screws.
5. Connect ground:
*The black wire must be connected to a metal part of the car (such as the chassis).
* Clean the connection area with alkali and ground the wire securely.
6. Install the connection kit in the car:
* Find a suitable location under the dashboard or in the engine compartment to install the connection kit.
* Secure the set using screws or clamps.
7. Check the connection:
* Turn on the ignition and lights of the car.
* Check the operation of all lights and turn signals on both the trailer and the vehicle.
* Troubleshoot as necessary.
