Hardware method (most effective):

1. Make sure your car is compatible. This method is not suitable for all automatic transmissions. Check your vehicle’s owner’s manual or consult a mechanic.
2. Find a car service center with a machine for changing automatic transmission oil.
3. Take the car to the service center.
4. Connect the device to the automatic transmission via hoses.
5. Start the device, which will circulate new oil through the automatic transmission.
6. At the same time drain the old oil.
7. The process continues until all the old oil is drained and replaced with new oil.

Gravity method (less effective):

1. Warm up the engine. This will reduce the viscosity of the oil and make draining easier.
2. Raise the vehicle on a lift or place it on supports.
3. Find the automatic transmission pan. It is usually located at the bottom of the gearbox.
4. Place the oil pan under the automatic transmission pan.
5. Loosen the automatic transmission pan drain plug and drain the oil.
6. Remove the automatic transmission pan and clean it. Replace the pan gasket if necessary.
7. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the drain plug.
8. Add new oil to the automatic transmission through the filler plug.

Notes:

*Make sure you are draining the correct type of oil for your automatic transmission.
* A complete oil change in an automatic transmission can take from 4 to 8 liters of oil.
* After changing the oil, remove the automatic transmission dipstick and check the oil level. The oil should be at the “hot” level.
