Checking the fluid level

1. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature (85-90°C).
2. Place the car on a flat surface.
3. Move the automatic transmission selector to all positions (P, R, N, D, 2, L) with a pause of several seconds in each position.
4. Pull the dipstick handle to check the automatic transmission fluid. The dipstick is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the engine.
5. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth.
6. Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull it out.

Liquid level assessment

* Normal level: The fluid should be between the minimum (“min”) and maximum (“max”) marks on the dipstick.
*Low Level: If the fluid is below the minimum level, add fluid.
* High level: If the fluid is above the maximum level, coolant or water may have entered the automatic transmission, which should be checked immediately.

Adding fluid (if necessary)

1. Buy the appropriate automatic transmission fluid for your car.
2. Open the hood and find the automatic transmission oil filler plug. It is usually located next to the dipstick.
3. Using a funnel, pour fluid into the transmission until the level reaches a mark between the minimum and maximum marks.
4. Close the oil filler plug.

Adviсe

* Check the automatic transmission fluid level regularly, especially before long trips.
*Using the wrong fluid or overfilling the automatic transmission can lead to transmission problems.
* If you notice a fluid leak or notice any unusual noises or vibrations when operating the automatic transmission, contact a qualified mechanic.
