Probe method:
1. Warm up the car. Drive it for about 10 minutes.
2. Park the car on a level surface. Place the transmission selector in the «P» (Park) position.
3. Turn off the engine.
4. Open the hood.
5. Find the automatic transmission oil level dipstick. It usually has a yellow or orange handle and is located at the rear of the engine.
6. Pull out the dipstick. Wipe it with a clean cloth.
7. Insert the dipstick back into the tube until it stops.
8. Pull the dipstick out again. There will be marks on it showing two levels: «min» (minimum) and «max» (maximum).
9. Check the oil level. The level should be between the «min» and «max» marks.
Method using diagnostic tool:
1. Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle.
2. Select the automatic transmission module.
3. Go to the options menu.
4. Find the «Automatic transmission oil temperature» parameter.
5. Check the temperature value. It must be within the range specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
6. If the temperature is within normal limits, scroll through the list of parameters and find “Automatic transmission oil level”.
7. Check the oil level. It must be within the limits specified in the vehicle’s operating manual.
Note:
* Check the oil level only when the engine is warm.
* If the oil level is low, add oil of the same type and brand as your automatic transmission.
* After adding oil, check the oil level again.
