Materials:

* New Toyota WS gear oil or other approved type
* New sealing washer for drain plug (if equipped)
* Funnel
* Set of keys or socket heads
* Oil drain pan

Tools:

* Wrench or socket for drain plug
* Hex key for drain plug (if equipped)
* Brush or rag for cleaning

Steps:

1. Check the oil level: Check the transmission oil level before draining it to see if it needs to be changed. The oil level should be between the «H» and «L» marks on the dipstick.

2. Set the parking brake: Set the parking brake to prevent the vehicle from moving while draining the oil.

3. Start the engine: Start the car engine and let it run for a few minutes until it warms up. This will thin the oil, making it easier to drain.

4. Remove the sump guard: If your vehicle has a sump guard, remove it to gain access to the transmission.

5. Locate the drain plug: Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan. It is usually located at the bottom of the tray.

6. Prepare the pan: Place a pan to drain the oil under the drain plug.

7. Drain the oil: Using a wrench or socket, carefully loosen the drain plug. Drain the oil into the pan until it stops flowing.

8. Replace the sealing washer: If your drain plug has a sealing washer, replace it with a new one.

9. Reinstall the drain plug: Tighten the drain plug using a wrench or socket until it is secure.

10. Add New Oil: Using a funnel, pour new gear oil into the transmission. The amount of oil to fill will be indicated in your vehicle’s service manual.

11. Check the oil level: Start the engine and run for a few minutes. Then check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the “H” and “L” marks.

12. Reset the oil aging counter: After changing the oil, you need to reset the oil aging counter so that the car’s on-board computer knows that the oil is new. Resetting the counter is usually done using a diagnostic scanner.

13. Reinstall the crankcase guard: If you removed the crankcase guard, reinstall it.

Adviсe:

*Use the correct type of transmission oil as specified in your vehicle’s service manual.
*Check the transmission oil level periodically to ensure it is within the specified range.
