Replacement procedure:
1. Preparing the car:

2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the automatic transmission pan under the car.
* Place the oil pan under the automatic transmission pan plug.
* Unscrew the pan plug using a wrench or socket.
* Be careful as oil may leak under pressure.
*Allow the old oil to drain completely, this may take 15-20 minutes.
3. Replacing the oil filter:
* Find the automatic transmission oil filter, which is usually located next to the pan.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the oil filter.
*Remove the old oil filter and install a new one.
4. Pallet installation:
* Apply sealant or a new o-ring to the pan plug and screw it into place.
* Tighten the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
5. Filling with new oil:
* Insert a funnel into the hole for the automatic transmission dipstick.
* Slowly add new gear oil.
* The amount of oil required for filling is indicated in the vehicle’s operating manual.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick and add if necessary.
6. Resetting the maintenance counter:
* Some SsangYong Kyron models have a maintenance counter that must be reset after changing the automatic transmission oil.
* Refer to the vehicle owner’s manual for the procedure for resetting the meter.
7. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Move the car into gear and then back into park.
* Remove the automatic transmission dipstick and check the oil level.
* If necessary, add oil until it is between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.
Notes:
* It is recommended to use the transmission oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Changing the automatic transmission oil must be done regularly in accordance with the interval specified in the vehicle’s operating manual.
* If you are unsure of your abilities, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
