Materials:
* New automatic transmission oil DEXRON III or VI
* New transmission oil filter
* Oil pan (optional if damaged or worn)
* Pan O-ring
* Tools:
* Set of wrenches or ratchets
* Hex key
* Pliers
* Funnel
* Container for used oil (at least 4 liters)
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
* Turn off the engine and place the gear shift lever in the «Park» position.
* Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on stands to provide access from below.
2. Draining the oil:
* Locate the transmission oil pan under the vehicle.
* Place a waste oil container under the pan.
* Loosen the drain plug bolt using a hex wrench.
* Carefully remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain.
3. Filter replacement:
* Remove the pan bolts using a wrench or ratchet.
* Carefully separate the pan from the transmission, be aware that residual oil may leak out for a while.
* Locate the oil filter and remove it.
* Reinstall the new filter.
4. Cleaning and reinstalling the pan:
* Clean the pan of old oil and dirt.
* Apply a small amount of new oil to the surface of the new O-ring.
* Install the O-ring into the groove on the pan.
* Reinstall the pan onto the transmission and tighten the bolts by hand.
* Add a tightening torque of 10-12 Nm using a wrench or ratchet.
5. Oil filling:
*Locate the filler plug on the side of the transmission.
* Insert a funnel into the filler plug.
* Fill with new transmission oil to the level indicated on the dipstick.
* Reinstall the filler plug.
6. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gear lever through all positions.
* Turn off the engine.
* Wait a few minutes for the oil to drain back into the pan.
*Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and reinsert it.
* Check the oil level: it should be between the «Min» and «Max» marks on the dipstick.
*Add oil or drain off excess if necessary.
7. Reset oil change counter (optional):
*If your vehicle has an oil change counter, you can reset it by following the instructions in your owner’s manual.
8. Cleaning:
* Remove used oil and filters.
* Wash your hands and tools.
