Materials:
* New oil for automatic transmission Toyota WS (about 4 liters)
* New automatic transmission oil filter (part number: 35330-07010)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (part number: 35168-21020)
* Funnel or pump
* Tubular wrench 10 mm
* 6 mm hex key
* Metal cleaning brush
* Rags
Procedure:
1. Preparing the car:
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the automatic transmission pan under the car.
* Clean the pan drain plug with a metal cleaning brush.
* Place an oil drain pan under the drain plug.
* Using a tubular wrench, carefully unscrew the drain plug.
*Wait until all the oil has drained into the oil drain pan.
3. Replacing the oil filter:
* Clean the automatic transmission pan with a rag.
* Find the automatic transmission pan bolts and unscrew them with a hex wrench.
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Remove the old oil filter.
* Install a new oil filter.
4. Replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket:
* Clean the surfaces of the automatic transmission pan and gearbox housing with a rag.
* Remove the old automatic transmission pan gasket.
* Install a new automatic transmission pan gasket.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Carefully install the automatic transmission pan back onto the transmission housing.
* Tighten the automatic transmission pan bolts with a hex wrench.
6. Filling with new oil:
* Locate the automatic transmission filler plug on the side of the transmission.
* Clean the filler plug with a metal cleaning brush.
* Using a funnel or pump, pour new Toyota WS automatic transmission oil into the gearbox.
* Fill in about 3 liters of oil.
7. Checking the oil level:
* After adding 3 liters of oil, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Shift the gearshift lever to all positions and return it to the park position.
* Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the automatic transmission pan.
* Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The oil level should be between the “hot” and “cold” marks.
8. Adding oil:
*If the oil level is below the hot mark, add a little more oil.
9. Tightening the filler plug:
* Tighten the automatic transmission filler plug with a tubular wrench.
10. Resetting the automatic transmission oil life counter:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Press and release the brake pedal 10 times.
* Stop the engine.
* Start the engine again and wait until the “ECO” indicator on the dashboard lights up.
* The automatic transmission oil life counter will be reset.
Note:
* Regular automatic transmission oil changes help extend the life of the gearbox.
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000-100,000 kilometers or in accordance with the instructions in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
* When changing automatic transmission oil, it is important to use the correct type of oil and follow all procedures correctly.
