Steps:
1. Place the car on a level surface and turn off the engine. Wait until the engine cools down.
2. Get under the car and find the automatic transmission sump. Clean the area around the oil drain plug.
3. Place a container under the drain hole. Unscrew the oil drain plug using a 17 mm wrench. Oil will begin to flow out.
4. Drain all the oil from the automatic transmission pan. This may take a few minutes.
5. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the pan using a 10 mm wrench. Remove the pan carefully as there may be some oil left in it.
6. Replace the oil filter. Remove the old filter from the pan and replace it with a new one. Make sure the new O-rings are securely seated on the filter.
7. Clean the pan and gasket. Remove the old gasket from the pan and clean it of any remaining dirt or sealant.
8. Install a new gasket and pan plug. Apply a small amount of sealant to the gasket and install it on the pan. Then tighten the oil drain plug with a new O-ring.
9. Install the automatic transmission pan. Lift the pan into place and tighten the bolts using a 10mm wrench.
10. Fill with new transmission oil. Fill in about 4 liters of new oil through the dipstick hole.
11. Check the oil level. Start the engine and shift gears to circulate oil through the system. Then check the oil level using the dipstick. The level should be between the “Hot” and “Cool” marks on the dipstick.
12. Add oil if necessary. If the oil level is low, add a little more oil through the dipstick hole.
13. Reset the oil change counter. If your vehicle has an oil change counter, reset it after changing the oil.
Note:
* It is recommended to change the transmission oil every 60,000 km or two years, whichever comes first.
* Use only oil recommended by the manufacturer.
*Be careful with hot oil. Wear gloves and safety glasses.
