To test the electrical wiring in your car you will need:

* Multimeter (tester)
* Wire with alligator clips

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the battery. This is important for your safety and to prevent short circuits.
2. Set the multimeter to 20 VDC voltmeter mode.
3. Connect one terminal of the multimeter to the positive terminal of the battery.
4. Using another clamp, ring the fuses. If the fuse is good, the multimeter will show a voltage of about 12 V.
5. Ring the relay. Connect one clamp to the power terminal and the other to the control terminal. When power is applied to the control contact, the multimeter should show 12 V.
6. Call the wiring. Connect one clamp to one end of the wire and the other clamp to the other end. If the wire is intact, the multimeter will show very low resistance (close to zero).
7. Ring the sensors and actuators. To do this, you need to find wiring diagrams for your car. Connect one clamp to the sensor or actuator connector, and the other to ground (for example, to a metal part of the body). The multimeter should display resistance or voltage according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Additional tips:

* Use sudden movements when ringing the wire. This will help eliminate false readings caused by poor connections.
*If the multimeter shows nothing, the wiring may be damaged or short circuited. Check the wiring visually and replace damaged sections.
*If the multimeter shows voltage instead of resistance, there may be a short circuit in the circuit. Disconnect all consumers and check the wiring for damage.
*If you are unsure of your skills, seek assistance from a qualified electrician.
