Materials:
* 10 mm wrench
Steps:
1. Make sure the car is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
2. Open the hood and locate the throttle valve.
3. Locate the automatic transmission cable attached to the throttle valve.
4. Loosen the locknut on the automatic transmission cable with a 10 mm wrench.
5. Hold the cable and adjust its length by rotating the sleeve.
6. The correct length of the cable should be such that the shift lock does not allow the shift lever to be shifted into the Park (P) position when the brake pedal is not depressed.
7. Tighten the locknut, holding the cable in the correct position.
8. Start the engine and check the cable operation. The gear lever should shift easily between gears.
Adviсe:
*If you are unsure about the adjustment, it is recommended that you consult a mechanic.
* Check and adjust the automatic transmission cable every 30,000 km or as necessary.
* A cable that is too tight can cause shifting to stick, and a cable that is too loose can cause the transmission to slip.
