Adjustment steps:
1. Set the vehicle’s parking brake: For safety.
2. Locate the automatic transmission cable: It is usually located next to the gearbox. Look for a black or gray cable that leads to the gear shift lever.
3. Locate the Adjuster Nut: Locate the nut at the end of the cable where it attaches to the shift lever.
4. Release the lock nut: Use a wrench to loosen the lock nut that holds the adjusting nut in place.
5. Rotate the adjusting nut: Using a wrench or pliers, turn the adjusting nut clockwise to shorten the cable travel or counterclockwise to increase the cable travel.
6. Check the adjustment: After making adjustments, check that the vehicle shifts correctly. Shift the gear lever through all gears and make sure that the gears engage smoothly and without slipping.
7. Tighten the lock nut: After checking the adjustment, tighten the lock nut to lock the adjusting nut in place.
