Materials:

* Screwdriver set
* Ratchet wrench
* Collar
* Extension cord
* Open-end wrench 17 mm

Instructions:

1. Make sure the transmission is in park (P):
This is necessary to ensure safety and correct adjustment.

2. Prepare the car:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Lower the hood and lock it.

3. Loosen the cable locknut:
*Locate the locknut on the transmission cable, usually located under the hood near the gas pedal.
*Using a 17mm wrench, loosen the locknut, but do not remove it completely.

4. Adjust the cable:
*Use a screwdriver or bit to adjust the cable and set the correct gap.
* The gap should be within 1-2mm, usually the specific value is indicated in your vehicle’s service manual.
* Turn the adjusting bolt or nut on the cable to decrease or increase the clearance.

5. Tighten the locknut:
*After adjusting the cable, tighten the locknut with a 17mm wrench.
* Do not overtighten the locknut, otherwise it may damage the cable.

6. Check operation:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gearbox to different positions and check for smooth and correct shifting.
* Check for any abnormal noise or vibration when shifting gears.

7. If necessary, repeat the adjustment:
*If the gear shift still does not work properly, repeat steps 3 to 6 until the correct adjustment is achieved.
