Required tools:
* OBD-II scanner
* Battery or charger for automatic transmission
Adaptation procedure for Kia Sportage 4 automatic transmission:
1. Make sure the engine is turned off.
2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic connector.
3. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
4. Select the “Transmission” option on the scanner.
5. Select Special Features or Diagnostics.
6. Find and select the option “Automatic transmission adaptation” or “Clear automatic transmission adaptive settings”.
7. Confirm that the adaptation is complete.
8. Start the engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes.
9. Shift the gear selector to each position (P, R, N, D, 2, 1) and hold each position for 5-10 seconds.
10. Disconnect the OBD-II scanner.
Important:
* Before starting adaptation, make sure that the transmission fluid level in the automatic transmission is normal.
* Do not interrupt the adaptation process, as this may lead to problems with the automatic transmission.
*If any shifting problems occur after adaptation, please contact a qualified mechanic.
