Location of the Honda Odyssey automatic transmission selector position sensor

The location of the automatic transmission selector position sensor (gear selector) on a Honda Odyssey may vary depending on the year and model. Here’s a general guide:

Models before 2013:

* The sensor is located on the right side of the transmission, next to the gear lever.
*The sensor is usually rectangular or square in shape with a wire coming out of it.

2013 and newer models:

* The sensor is located on the top of the transmission, under the air duct.
*It can be accessed by removing the duct and access panel.

Instructions for removing and replacing the automatic transmission selector position sensor:

Tools:

* Wrench or socket wrench of appropriate size
* Flat blade screwdriver
* New selector position sensor (if necessary)

Steps:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent short circuits when working with electrical components.
2. Locate the selector lever position sensor and disconnect the electrical connector. Press the connector latch and pull the connector out of the sensor.
3. Loosen the mounting bolts holding the sensor in place.
4. Remove the sensor from the transmission.
5. Install a new sensor (if necessary).
6. Tighten the mounting bolts.
7. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
8. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
9. Reset the fault code (if any). This can be done using a scanner or by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
10. Check the operation of the gear selector. Make sure the gears shift smoothly and without problems.
