* Key or screwdriver for removing the automatic transmission pan
Procedure:
1. Preparing the car:
* Start the car and let it warm up.
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a container under the drain plug to collect old oil.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug and drain the old oil.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* After the oil has drained, unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the pan from the transmission.
* If the tray is stuck, carefully pry it off with a screwdriver or plastic wedge.
4. Filter replacement (if necessary):
* If your car is equipped with a replaceable automatic transmission filter, replace it with a new one.
* To do this, remove the old filter and install the new one in the same position.
5. Installing the pan gasket:
* Clean the surfaces of the pan and gearbox from any remnants of the old gasket.
* Install a new gasket on the pan. Make sure it is aligned correctly.
6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Carefully place the tray in place and secure it with bolts. Tighten them to the specified torque.
7. Filling with new oil:
* Locate the oil fill hole on the side of the automatic transmission.
* Insert a funnel into the hole and fill in new gear oil.
* Fill the oil until it starts to flow out of the fill hole.
8. Checking the oil level:
* Remove the funnel and install the plug.
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gear selector to each position and return to park mode.
* Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “hot” and “cold” marks.
9. Resetting fault codes (if necessary):
*If the fault light comes on during the oil change procedure, you may need to reset the trouble codes.
*Take this to a qualified mechanic.
Notes:
* Use oil recommended by the manufacturer.
*Check the transmission oil level regularly according to maintenance recommendations.
*If you find it difficult to change the oil yourself, take it to a qualified mechanic.
