Letters on the automatic transmission selector

P (Park): Parking. Locks the wheels to prevent the car from moving. Used when parking.

R (Reverse): Reverse. The car is moving in reverse.

N (Neutral): Neutral. The car is not moving. Used when towing or warming up the engine.

D (Drive): Movement. The car is moving forward.

2: Driving with limited gears. Typically used on slippery roads or when towing heavy loads.

1: Driving in first gear only. Typically used on steep slopes or when crawling.

L (Low): Lowest gear. Typically used for low speed driving or overcoming obstacles.

S (Sport): Sports mode. The transmission shifts to higher revs, providing faster acceleration.

M (Manual): Manual mode. The driver can manually change gears.

+ (Plus): Manual upshift.

– (Minus): Manual downshift.
