Materials:
* New gear oil (check your vehicle’s manual for recommended grade and volume)
* New transmission oil filter
* Transmission pan sealing washers
*Measuring cup or funnel
Tools:
* Set of keys or socket heads
* Flat head screwdriver
* Oil can
* Car stand
* Rags or clean rags
* Gloves
Instructions:
1. Preparing the car:
* Place the vehicle on a stand to provide easy access to the underbody of the vehicle.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan.
* Place a drain container under the drain plug.
*Using a wrench or socket, carefully unscrew the drain plug.
* Wait until all the oil drains into the drain container.
* Clean the drain plug and replace the sealing washer.
3. Replacing the oil filter:
* Remove the transmission pan using a set of wrenches or sockets.
* Position the oil filter at the top of the pan and unscrew it using a flat-head screwdriver.
* Install a new oil filter in place of the old one.
* Apply a small amount of new oil to the filter O-rings.
4. Installing the transmission pan:
* Clean the transmission pan mating surface and seal surfaces.
* Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the bolts.
* Make sure the sealing washers under the bolts are in place.
5. Refilling with new oil:
* Add new transmission oil to the transmission through the filler plug or using an oil nipple.
*Use a measuring cup or funnel to check the oil level.
* Fill the oil until the level reaches the «HOT» mark on the transmission dipstick.
6. Cleaning and reinstalling the dipstick:
* Wipe the dipstick and reinsert it into the tube.
* Pull out the dipstick and check the oil level.
* Repeat the process of topping up and checking the level until the dipstick shows the correct level.
7. Starting the engine:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Switch transmission modes to distribute oil throughout the system.
8. Checking the oil level:
* After a few minutes, turn off the engine and wait a few minutes until the oil drains back into the pan.
* Pull out the dipstick and check the oil level again.
* If necessary, add oil to the “HOT” mark.
9. Cleaning:
* Remove all used materials and tools.
* Make sure all drain plugs and oil filters are fully tightened.
