Checking the oil level in a Ford Mondeo automatic transmission

Tools and materials:

* Clean rags or rag
* Dipstick for checking the automatic transmission oil level

Procedure:

1. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. This will allow the oil to warm up and drain into the pan.
2. Shift the gear selector to Park (P).
3. Pull the dipstick to check the oil level from the engine compartment.
4. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth or rag.
5. Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull it out again.
6. Check the oil level on the dipstick:
* “Hot” level (marked “HOT”): Must be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick.
* “Cold” level (marked “COLD”): Should be at the lower mark on the dipstick.
7. If the oil level is below the required level, add oil. To do this, unscrew the filler plug on the gearbox and fill in the required amount of fluid. Use special transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Check the oil level again and adjust it if necessary.
9. Insert the dipstick back into the tube.

Note:

* It is recommended to regularly check the oil level in the automatic transmission, approximately every 15,000 km.
*If the oil level has changed significantly since the previous check, this may indicate a leak or other problem. You should contact a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis.
* Do not overfill the gearbox with oil as this may cause damage.
