The Ford Mondeo is available with both automatic and manual transmissions.
Automatic transmission
There are two types of automatic transmissions available in the Mondeo range:
* 6-speed automatic transmission (PowerShift): A dual-clutch Powershift CVT that was available in some Mondeo models.
* 8-speed automatic transmission (SelectShift): The classic torque converter automatic transmission currently available in most Mondeo models.
Manual transmission
The Mondeo is also available with a 6-speed manual transmission. This option is mainly found in models with less powerful engines and is often chosen by drivers who prefer a more involved and sporty driving experience.
