Materials:

* New automatic transmission oil (about 6-8 liters)
* New automatic transmission filter
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* Key for unscrewing the drain plug
* Funnel
* Rags

Tools:

* Lift or pit
* Keys and sockets
*Automatic transmission pressure relief device

Procedure:

1. Prepare the car: Lift the car on a lift or drive it into a pit. Leave the engine idling for about 10 minutes to warm up the automatic transmission oil.

2. Drain the old oil: Place a pan under the automatic transmission drain plug. Unscrew the drain plug by hand or with a wrench. Remove old oil from the pan.

3. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan to the transmission housing. Remove the pan carefully as there may be residual oil in it.

4. Replace the automatic transmission filter: Remove the old automatic transmission filter from the filter housing. Install the new filter and make sure it fits snugly.

5. Clean the automatic transmission pan: Remove the old gasket from the automatic transmission pan and clean it of debris.

6. Install a new gasket: Apply a new gasket to the transmission pan and align it with the transmission housing.

7. Install the automatic transmission pan: Lift the automatic transmission pan and install it in place. Tighten the pan mounting bolts in the order specified in the repair manual.

8. Fill with new oil: Using a funnel, pour new automatic transmission oil into the filler hole on the gearbox housing. Fill in about 5-6 liters of oil.

9. Check the oil level: Start the engine and shift the gear through all positions. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to settle. Measure the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The oil level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.

10. Install the drain plug: Screw the drain plug back into the transmission housing and tighten it with a wrench.

11. Relieve the automatic transmission pressure: Connect the automatic transmission pressure relief device to the vehicle. Follow the device’s instructions to relieve pressure in the automatic transmission system.

12. Check the operation of the automatic transmission: Start the engine and shift gears to all positions. Check that all gears are working properly and there are no oil leaks.

13. Check the oil level again: Drive the car for several days and recheck the automatic transmission oil level using the dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
