Procedure for changing the oil in a Ford Kuga 2 gearbox

Tools and materials:

* New Ford WSS-M2C200-D2 transmission oil
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* New transmission pan gasket
* Container for draining old oil
* Set of keys
* Funnel
* gloves

Steps:

1. Preparation

* Place the car on a lift or pit.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to warm up the oil.

2. Drain old oil

* Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan.
* Place a container under the drain plug.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the old oil.

3. Filter replacement

* Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan.
* Remove the pan.
* Replace the old oil filter with a new one.

4. Cleaning the tray

* Clean the transmission pan from dirt and oil residues.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.

5. Installation of the pallet

* Install the pan on the transmission and tighten the bolts.

6. Refilling with new oil

*Using a funnel, pour new transmission oil into the transmission through the filler plug.
* Fill with the specified amount of oil recommended by the manufacturer.

7. Checking the oil level

* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick.
* The oil level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.
*Add oil if necessary.

8. Resetting the oil aging counter

*Connect the OBD2 scanner to the car.
* Run the diagnostic program.
*Go to the transmission section.
*Locate the Oil Aging Counter parameter.
* Reset the counter to zero.

Note:

* Do not overtighten bolts and nuts.
* Use only gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Be sure to reset the oil aging counter, otherwise premature gearbox wear may occur.
