Where is the speed sensor located on a Ford Galaxy with automatic transmission:
The speed sensor is located on the transmission output shaft, next to the left drive shaft.
How to find the speed sensor:
1. Raise the car with a jack and secure it on stands.
2. Find the transmission housing (automatic transmission).
3. Locate the left side of the transmission where the drive shaft is located.
4. Follow the drive shaft to the transmission output shaft.
5. On the output shaft you will see a small cylindrical sensor with an electrical connector. This is a speed sensor.
Replacing the speed sensor:
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
2. Using a 10 mm wrench, remove the bolt securing the speed sensor to the output shaft.
3. Pull the speed sensor out of the output shaft.
4. Install the new speed sensor in reverse order.
5. Tighten the speed sensor bolt using a 10mm wrench.
6. Connect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
