Steps to unlock a Ford Focus automatic transmission:

1. Confirm that the automatic transmission is locked.

* Insert the ignition key and turn it to the “On” position.
*Press the brake pedal.
* Try moving the automatic transmission selector to the Drive (D) position.
* If the selector is locked, you will hear a click or feel resistance.

2. Find the automatic transmission unlock button.

* Usually it is located next to the automatic transmission selector under the protective cover.
* May be indicated by a key or lock symbol.

3. Press and hold the automatic transmission unlock button.

* Keep the button pressed until you feel the selector unlock.

4. Move the automatic transmission selector to the desired position.

* Release the unlock button and move the selector to the Drive (D) position.
* The automatic transmission should now be unlocked and operating normally.

Adviсe:

* If the automatic transmission unlock button does not work, make sure that the brake pedal is pressed all the way.
