Shifting into reverse gear on a Ford Focus with automatic transmission:
1. Press the brake pedal. Make sure the car is completely stopped.
2. Move the gear shift lever to the “P” (Park) position.
3. Click the “Shift Lock Override” button. It is located next to the gear lever, usually under the “P” button.
4. Move the gear shift lever to the “R” (Reverse) position.
5. Release the “Shift Lock Override” button.
6. Release the brake pedal. The car will start moving backwards.
Note:
* Always make sure the vehicle is on level ground before shifting into reverse gear.
* Do not engage reverse gear while driving or at high engine speeds. This may damage the transmission.
* Be careful when reversing and always check your blind spots before driving.
