Required tools and materials:
* Tool for pumping out transmission fluid
* New transmission filter
* New transmission fluid
* Transmission pan gasket
* Gasket sealant
* Metal brush
* Rags or rags
* Torque wrench
* OBD2 scanner
Repair procedure:
1. Safety first:
* Place the vehicle in park and apply the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Pump out the transmission fluid:
*Locate the transmission pan drain plug and place a container under it.
* Unscrew the drain plug and allow the liquid to drain.
3. Remove the transmission pan:
* Unscrew the transmission pan mounting bolts.
* Carefully pry up the tray with a screwdriver and remove it.
4. Clean the tray and magnets:
* Clean the tray and magnets from metal shavings and other contaminants.
* Remove any remaining gasket from the pan and transmission surface.
5. Replace the transmission filter:
* Remove the old transmission filter.
* Install a new filter.
6. Install the pan gasket:
* Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the surface of the transmission pan.
* Install a new pan gasket.
7. Install the transmission pan:
* Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
8. Fill with new transmission fluid:
* Pour new transmission fluid into the transmission drain hole.
*Use a funnel to prevent spills.
9. Check the fluid level:
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear selector to different positions and let each gear operate for a few seconds.
* Check the transmission fluid level using the dipstick. The level should be between the «MIN» and «MAX» marks.
10. Reset transmission adaptations:
*Connect the OBD2 scanner to the car.
* Identify the transmission section in the scanner menu.
* Select the option to reset transmission adaptations.
11. Check for leaks:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Check the transmission pan for leaks.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Note:
*Always use transmission fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Tighten the transmission pan mounting bolts to the specified torque to prevent leakage.
