Adaptation of PowerShift automatic transmission for Ford Focus 3

Required tools:

* Ford VCM II diagnostic scanner or similar
* Laptop

Adaptation procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface and in park mode.
* Stop the engine.
* Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s OBD-II connector.
*Run diagnostic software on your laptop.

2. Reading fault codes:

* Select the ‘Transmission’ module in the diagnostic software.
* Read fault codes. If there are any codes, resolve them before continuing.

3. Adhesion point adaptation:

* Select the function ‘Adjustment of adhesion point’ in the diagnostic software.
*Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the onboarding procedure.
*This procedure adjusts the clutch point to ensure smooth shifting.

4. Adaptation of working pressure:

* Select the ‘Work pressure adaptation’ function in the diagnostic software.
*Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the onboarding procedure.
* This procedure adjusts the operating pressure in the transmission system, optimizing its performance.

5. Completion:

* After adaptation is completed, turn off the ignition and turn off the diagnostic scanner.
* Start the engine and check if the gear shifts smoothly.

Note:

* It is recommended to adapt the PowerShift automatic transmission after replacing the clutch or servicing the transmission.
*If adaptation does not resolve shifting problems, contact a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
