Location of the reverse sensor on a Ford Focus II with automatic transmission
The reverse sensor is located on the top of the transmission, near the left hand drive.
Replacement Instructions
1. Raise the car on a lift or place it on jacks.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Locate the reverse sensor.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
5. Using a 19mm wrench, unscrew the sensor from the transmission.
6. Screw in the new sensor by hand until it stops.
7. Tighten the sensor with a wrench to 25 Nm.
8. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
9. Install the negative battery terminal.
10. Lower the vehicle.
Notes:
* Let the engine cool down before starting work.
*Use a new reverse sensor from an authorized Ford dealer.
*When installing a new sensor, use thread sealant on the threads of the sensor.
* Clean the transmission surface of dirt and oil before installing a new sensor.
