Materials:

* Fresh transmission fluid (ATF)
* New valve body filter
*Transmission pan
* Transmission pan gasket
*Transmission filter
* Oil resistant gloves
* Rags
* Torx screwdriver
* Ratchet wrench
* Magnetic funnel

Steps:

1. Preparation:

* Place the car on a lift or use jacks and special supports.
* Wear oil-resistant gloves.
* Gather all necessary materials.

2. ATF drain:

*Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the transmission pan.
* Place a container for used ATF under the drain hole.
* Unscrew the drain plug using a ratchet wrench and allow the ATF to drain.

3. Removing the transmission pan:

* Remove the bolts holding the transmission pan using a Torx screwdriver.
* Be careful when removing the pan as residual ATF may leak out.

4. Removing the valve body filter:

*Locate the valve body filter at the bottom of the transmission pan.
* Unscrew the bolts holding the filter using a Torx screwdriver.
*Remove the old filter and install a new one.
* Tighten the filter bolts.

5. Installing the transmission pan:

* Install a new transmission pan gasket.
* Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the bolts.

6. Filter installation:

* Install a new filter in the transmission.
* Tighten the filter bolts.

7. Filling with new ATF:

*Pour new ATF into the transmission through the dipstick hole.
*Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for ATF volume and type.
* Use a magnetic funnel to collect metal particles in the ATF.

8. Checking ATF level:

* Warm up the engine and transmission to operating temperature.
* Select the parking position and remove the ATF dipstick.
* Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and insert it back into the tube.
* Remove the dipstick and check the ATF level. The level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the dipstick.

9. Reset ATF aging counter (optional):

*If your vehicle has an ATF aging counter, it must be reset after replacing the ATF.
*Refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for specific instructions on how to reset the meter.

10. Test drive:

* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift the transmission through all ranges several times.
* Check for leaks and make sure the transmission is operating properly.
