Materials:
* Automatic transmission cleaning fluid
* New gaskets and o-rings
* Special tools for automatic transmission flushing
The procedure for flushing the Mercedes transmission valve block:
1. Removing the valve block:
* Disconnect the battery.
* Drain the transmission fluid.
* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve block.
* Unscrew the valve block mounting bolts.
* Remove the valve block.
2. Disassembling the valve block:
* Using special tools, carefully disassemble the valve block.
* Remove all valves, solenoids and springs.
3. Washing:
* Place all valve block components in a container of automatic transmission cleaning fluid.
*Allow the components to soak for the recommended time.
*Using a soft brush or compressed air, carefully clean all passages and ports in the valve block body.
4. Assembly:
* Install new gaskets and O-rings at all mating points.
* Reassemble the valve block in the reverse order of disassembly.
* Make sure all components are installed and tightened correctly.
5. Installation:
* Reinstall the valve block in the automatic transmission.
* Tighten the mounting bolts.
* Connect the electrical connector.
* Install the automatic transmission pan.
* Fill with transmission fluid.
6. Check:
* Connect the battery.
* Start the engine and change gears several times.
* Check for leaks, noise or other problems.
Note:
* Flush the valve block only when necessary, for example after repairing the automatic transmission or when signs of malfunction appear, such as delayed gear shifting or slipping.
*Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning fluid and flushing procedure.
