Servicing the automatic transmission filter in a Toyota Sprinter

Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission filter
* Transmission housing gasket
* Automatic transmission oil
* Funnel
* Wrenches

Steps:

1. Locate the gearbox. The gearbox is located at the bottom of the car under the hood.

2. Remove the transmission oil pan. To do this, unscrew the bolts securing the pan to the gearbox. Be careful: a small amount of oil will leak out of the pan.

3. Remove the old transmission filter. The filter is usually located at the top of the pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the filter and carefully remove it.

4. Install a new transmission filter. Insert the new filter into the seat and tighten the bolts.

5. Replace the transmission housing gasket. Remove the old gasket and install a new one.

6. Install the transmission oil pan. Align the pan with the transmission housing and tighten the bolts.

7. Add oil to the gearbox. Using a funnel, add the recommended amount of automatic transmission oil to the transmission.

8. Check the oil level. Start the engine and let it idle. Check the gearbox oil level using the dipstick.

9. Bring the oil level to normal. If necessary, add oil until the level reaches the required value.

Adviсe:

*Always use original or manufacturer approved automatic transmission filters and oil.
* Check the gearbox oil level regularly and top up if necessary.
* Replacement of the automatic transmission filter must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
