Possible reasons for automatic transmission emergency mode in Mercedes W203:

Other reasons:

* Insufficient transmission fluid level
* Contaminated transmission fluid
* Clogged gearbox oil filter
* Transmission overheating

Symptoms of automatic transmission emergency mode:

* The transmission only shifts to lower gears
* Gears do not shift or shift late
*Loss of engine power
* Jerks and shocks when changing gears
*The warning indicator on the dashboard lights up
