Electrician’s instructions for a car
Responsibilities:
* Diagnostics, repair and maintenance of vehicle electrical systems
* Installation and replacement of electrical components such as batteries, alternators, starters and cable harnesses
* Checking and adjusting ignition, lighting and signal systems
* Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams
* Compliance with safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
* Secondary vocational education in the specialty “Electrician for the maintenance and repair of vehicles” or “Auto mechanic”
* Experience as an automotive electrician or related field
* Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including ignition, lighting and signal systems
* Skills in using power tools, multimeters and diagnostic equipment
* Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
* Electrical systems troubleshooting skills
* Compliance with safety standards and labor protection regulations
Instructions for performing the work:
Diagnostics and troubleshooting:
* Visually inspect electrical components for signs of damage or wear
* Check the voltage at the battery and generator terminals
* Check the resistance and integrity of the cable harnesses
*Use a scan tool or diagnostic equipment to read fault codes and determine the cause of faults
Repair and maintenance:
* Replace faulty components such as spark plugs, battery, alternator or starter
* Repair or replace cable harnesses
* Adjust ignition, lighting and signal systems to specifications
* Install additional electrical components such as alarms or remote engine start systems
Preventative Maintenance:
* Regularly check the condition of the battery and electrolyte
* Inspect and clean cable harnesses and terminals
* Check and adjust ignition, lighting and signal systems
* Perform electrical system diagnostics to identify potential problems
Safety precautions:
* Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems
*Use properly insulated tools and safety equipment
*Work in a well-ventilated area
*Follow all operating instructions for diagnostic equipment and power tools
* Do not touch exposed live parts
Documentation:
* Maintain records of work completed, including dates, job descriptions and materials used
* Keep copies of diagnostic reports and invoices for work performed
