§ 18. Electrician for repairing electrical equipment of cars

I. Characteristics of work

* Removal, disassembly and assembly of electrical equipment of automobiles, its repair, installation and adjustment.
* Determination of faults in electrical networks, electric motors, instruments and electrical equipment, batteries, generators and starters.
* Testing of electric motors, batteries, electrical equipment, instruments, distribution boards.
* Lubricating components and parts of electrical equipment and checking their operation.
* Occupational safety.
* Compliance with fire safety requirements.
* Performing work in one profession.

II. Gotta know

* Design, principle of operation and operating rules of electrical equipment being repaired.
* Electrical equipment diagrams, placement and purpose of instruments and apparatus.
* Technical conditions and requirements for the repair of electrical equipment of automobiles.
* Methods for checking and testing electrical equipment and devices.
* Fundamentals of electrical engineering and electrical measurements.
* Occupational safety and health regulations.
* Fire safety rules.

III. Qualification Requirements

* 2nd category:
* Secondary (complete) general education and vocational education in the profession of an electrician for repairing electrical equipment of cars without presenting requirements for work experience.
* Course preparation and on-the-job training.
* Knowledge of the structure and operating principle of the main types of electrical equipment and components of automobiles, the purpose and installation location of individual parts.
* Ability to perform plumbing work, remove, disassemble and assemble electrical equipment, and repair it.
* 3rd category:
* Secondary (complete) general education and vocational education in the profession of an electrician for repairing electrical equipment of cars or having relevant experience as an electrician for repairing electrical equipment of cars of the 2nd category.
* Ability to identify faults in electrical networks, electric motors, instruments and electrical equipment, batteries, generators and starters using instrumentation.
