Driving a Lada Granta with an automatic transmission

1. Starting the engine

*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to the “P” (park) position.
* Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position.
* Press the “Start/Stop” button or turn the key to the “START” position.
* Take your foot off the brake pedal when the engine starts.

2. Movement

*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to the “D” (drive) position.
* Release the brake pedal.
* The car will start moving.

3. Gear shift

* Automatic transmission changes gears automatically depending on speed and engine load.
* If necessary, you can switch to manual shifting by moving the selector to the “M” position.
* To upshift, pull the selector lever back (+).
* To downshift, push the selector forward (-).

4. Parking mode

*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to the “P” (park) position.
* Turn off the engine.
* Remove the key from the ignition switch.

5. Other modes

* N (neutral): The vehicle is not moving, but the engine is running. Used for towing or in neutral.
* R (reverse): The vehicle is moving in reverse.
* S (Sport): A more aggressive shift mode designed to improve acceleration dynamics.
* L (Low): Designed for driving in a lower gear, such as when climbing or towing.

Important Notes:

*Always bring the vehicle to a complete stop before shifting into P (Park).
* Do not hold the vehicle stationary using the brake pedal in the “D” (drive) position. This may cause the transmission to overheat.
* When driving downhill, shift to “L” (low gear) mode to use engine braking.
* When towing, shift to the “N” (neutral) position and release the brake pedal.
