Changing the oil in the automatic transmission Tuareg NF on Drive2

Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission oil (about 6 liters)
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan plug with new gasket
* 10 mm hex key
* 13 mm head
* Oil pump or large funnel
* Funnel with hose
*Gloves and safety glasses

Steps:

1. Cool the automatic transmission. Drive the car for 15-20 minutes to allow the transmission to warm up and the oil to become less viscous.

2. Raise the car on a lift or use jacks. Make sure the vehicle is securely secured.

3. Find the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan. It is usually located at the bottom of the tray.

4. Place a container under the drain plug. Unscrew the plug with a 10 mm hex key. The oil will begin to drain. Drain the oil for 10-15 minutes.

5. Remove the automatic transmission pan. After the oil has been drained, unscrew the pan bolts with a 13 mm socket. Carefully remove the tray.

6. Replace the automatic transmission oil filter. Locate the old filter in the pan and remove it by pulling it up. Place the new filter in its place by pressing it until it clicks.

7. Clean the pan and gasket. Remove any remaining old oil and gasket from the pan and the new gasket.

8. Reinstall the tray. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the gasket and install the pan in place. Tighten the pan bolts with a 13mm socket.

9. Fill the automatic transmission with new oil. Open the hood and find the automatic transmission filler plug. Using a pump or funnel, fill the gearbox with about 5 liters of new oil.

10. Start the engine. Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes. Shift the gear lever through all positions, pausing for a second in each position.

11. Check the oil level. Turn off the engine and wait 10-15 minutes for the oil to drain. Measure the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the MIN and MAX marks. Add oil if necessary.

12. Reset automatic transmission adaptations. This can be done using a scanner. Resetting adaptations will help the automatic transmission adapt to the new oil.

Adviсe:

* Change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 – 80,000 km or more often depending on operating conditions.
* Use only oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* If the oil in the automatic transmission is dark or there are metal particles in it, the automatic transmission may need repair.

Warning:

* Be careful when draining hot automatic transmission oil.
* Wear gloves and safety glasses when changing oil.
