Tools and materials:
* Automatic transmission pan remover
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New automatic transmission filter
* Transmission fluid
* Oil drain pump (recommended)
* Gloves
* Wrench
* 10 mm socket wrench
* Funnel
Step by step instructions:
1. Preparing the car:
* Park the car on a level surface.
* Set the car to the parking brake.
* Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Draining oil from the torque converter:
* Find the torque converter. It is located at the bottom of the automatic transmission.
* Locate the drain plug on the torque converter. It is usually located on the bottom of the torque converter and has a size of 10 mm.
* Place a container under the torque converter to drain the oil.
*Using a 10mm socket wrench, carefully unscrew the drain plug.
*Wait until the oil has completely drained. This may take some time.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Find the automatic transmission pan bolts. They are located around the tray and are usually 10mm in size.
*Using a wrench, carefully remove the pan bolts.
* Cut off the silicone sealant layer if the pan has been previously sealed.
4. Draining oil from the automatic transmission pan:
* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* The oil from the pan will drain into the prepared container.
5. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:
* Find and remove the old automatic transmission filter.
* Install a new automatic transmission filter.
6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Apply a fresh coat of silicone sealant to the edges of the transmission pan or install a new pan gasket.
* Install the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts.
* Tighten the torque converter drain plug.
7. Filling the automatic transmission with oil:
* Pour fresh oil into the automatic transmission housing through a funnel.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick.
*Add oil if necessary.
8. Battery connection:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
9. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and warm it up.
* Shift the automatic transmission selector to all positions and return to the parking position (P).
* Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.
*If necessary, add oil to the recommended level.
Note:
*Always use oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Regularly check the oil level in the automatic transmission and add it if necessary.
*Take it to a qualified mechanic for more complex transmission work.
