Tools and materials:

* Wrench set
* Screwdriver
* New automatic transmission drain plug gasket
* Container for draining transmission fluid
* Gloves

Instructions:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface: Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.

2. Locate the automatic transmission drain plug: Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the automatic transmission housing. It is usually located on the right side of the car, towards the rear of the transmission.

3. Place a drain container: Place a drain container under the drain plug.

4. Remove the guard (if equipped): If there is a guard around the drain plug, remove it using a screwdriver.

5. Unscrew the drain plug: Carefully unscrew the drain plug with the appropriate size wrench. In this case, the transmission fluid will begin to flow out.

6. Drain the fluid: Allow the transmission fluid to drain completely into a container. This may take some time.

7. Replace the gasket: Remove the old gasket from the drain plug and install a new gasket.

8. Screw the drain plug: Carefully screw the drain plug and new gasket into place. Tighten the plug to the required torque (usually specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual).

9. Install the guard (if equipped): If you removed the guard, reinstall it using a screwdriver.

10. Check the fluid level: After replacing the gasket, start the car engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then, using the automatic transmission dipstick, check the transmission fluid level. Add fluid as needed to the recommended level.

Adviсe:
