Location of the SsangYong Kyron automatic transmission drain plug

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or level surface.
2. Locate the transmission under the vehicle.
3. Locate the sump pan, which is a flat metal pan attached to the bottom of the transmission.
4. The drain plug is usually located on the oil pan, towards the rear of the transmission.
5. The drain plug is most often a hex plug with a diameter of 17 mm or 19 mm.

Tools required to replace the automatic transmission drain plug:

* Hex key 17mm or 19mm
* New drain plug and o-ring
* Container for draining old transmission oil

Steps to replace the automatic transmission drain plug:

1. Place a container to drain the old transmission oil under the drain plug.
2. Use a hex wrench to carefully unscrew the drain plug. Remember that the oil will still be hot, so be careful not to burn yourself.
3. Wait until all the oil has drained into the container.
4. Replace the O-ring on the new drain plug.
5. Screw the new drain plug into the sump pan.
6. Tighten the drain plug to the recommended torque (usually 25-35 Nm).
7. Dispose of old gear oil in accordance with local environmental regulations.
