For Hyundai Tucson from 2016 to 2023

Tools and materials:

* 27 mm socket wrench
* Funnel
* New drain plug
* New drain plug washer
* Automatic transmission oil (if necessary)

Instructions:

1. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to warm up the automatic transmission oil.
2. Stop the engine and set the parking brake.
3. Raise the vehicle on a lift or place it on a level surface with the parking brake engaged.
4. Place an oil pan under the drain hole on the automatic transmission housing (usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan).
5. Find the drain plug; it usually has a hexagonal head and is located on the automatic transmission pan.
6. Using a 27 mm socket wrench, carefully loosen the drain plug. Do not remove it completely at this stage.
7. Wait until the oil drains from the hole into the oil collection pan. This may take a few minutes.
8. Unscrew the drain plug completely and remove it.
9. Remove the old drain plug washer.
10. Clean the surface of the drain hole and apply a small amount of thread sealant to the new drain plug washer.
11. Screw the new drain plug into place, tightening it to the manufacturer’s recommendations (usually about 44 Nm).
12. Lower the vehicle from the lift or parking lot.
13. Pour new oil into the filler hole of the automatic transmission dipstick. The amount of oil you need to add will depend on the model and year of your vehicle. Refer to the instruction manual for more details.
14. Start the engine and shift gears through the entire range (P, R, N, D, S).
15. Check the oil level in the automatic transmission using a dipstick. It should be between the “HOT” and “FULL” marks. If necessary, add a little oil.

Note:

*Always consult your specific vehicle’s owner’s manual for accurate automatic transmission service recommendations.
*Using the wrong drain plug washer may cause oil leakage.
* It is important to tighten the drain plug to the specified torque to prevent leakage.
* Dispose of used oil and filter properly in accordance with local regulations.
