Reducing resistor automatic transmission Nissan Wingroad

The reduction resistor in the automatic transmission on Nissan Wingroad cars serves the function of protecting the solenoids from damage due to overvoltage. It is located in the automatic transmission control unit (TCU) and is a resistor with a resistance of about 1-3 ohms.

Location:

The pull-down resistor is usually located under the TCU housing. The TCU is located in the engine compartment, usually near the automatic transmission or on the right side of the battery base.

Troubleshooting:

A damaged pull-down resistor can result in the following symptoms:

* Solenoid faults and gear shifting
* Automatic transmission errors on the dashboard
* Automatic transmission emergency operation mode

Replacement:

Replacing the pull-down resistor requires disconnecting the TCU and desoldering the old resistor. The new resistor must match the original resistance value.

Note:

* Replacement of the pull-down resistor should only be performed by a qualified mechanic.
* Disconnect the battery before performing any electrical work.
* After installing a new resistor, it is necessary to adapt the automatic transmission, as indicated in the vehicle service manual.
