Tools and materials:

* Hex key (4mm)
* Flat head screwdriver
* Pliers or special ring remover
* Rags

Disassembly order:

1. Remove the automatic transmission selector knob

* Press the button on the selector knob and pull the knob up.
*If the handle does not come off, try pulling harder or use a flathead screwdriver to pry it from underneath.

2. Remove the selector housing

*Using a hex wrench, remove the two screws that secure the selector housing.
* Remove the cover by pulling it up.

3. Remove the gear selector assembly

*Using a flathead screwdriver, pry up the plastic tab that holds the gear selector assembly in place.
* Pull the gear selector assembly up and disconnect it from the gear shift lever.

4. Disassemble the gear selector unit

*Using pliers or a special ring puller, remove the ring that holds the shift spring.
* Remove the spring.
* Press the gear selector lock located on the top of the unit and remove the gear shift lever.

5. Inspect and clean parts

* Inspect all parts for wear or damage.
* Clean the parts with a rag and compressed air.

6. Automatic transmission selector assembly

* Reassemble the gear selector in reverse order.
* Install the gear shift lever on the selector block and secure it with the lock.
* Install the shift spring and secure it with the retaining ring.
* Install the gear selector assembly onto the gear shift lever and lock it into place.
* Install the selector housing and secure it with screws.
* Install the selector knob.

Note:

* Be careful when removing the ring to avoid damaging other parts.
*If you are not confident in your skills, it is better to contact a professional mechanic.
